This is an interactive, entertaining musical that educates, uplifts, and inspires audiences to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. We are hoping to continue to offer this in the Fall and Spring Semesters. Sign up information to come.

What is Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid is an in-person training that teaches you how to help people developing a mental illness or in a crisis. Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack — even if you have no clinical training — Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour certification workshop, designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens

Come listen and participate as Karen Bankston, PhD, MSN, FACHE from the College of Nursing explains and recommends practice strategies for addressing implicit bias in the exam room.

Error Disclosure Training
Learning Objectives of the Interprofessional Error Disclosure Training:
- Review the process of error disclosure and its importance in patient care.
- Practice discussing medical errors in a blame-free way as an interprofessional team.
- Formulate a plan for disclosure of a medical error as an interprofessional team.
- Practice disclosing a medical error to a patient/family as a team while demonstrating compassion and respect.
