Week-2 : Project Management
In the second week, mentor and DTS Scrum Leader/Coordinator Anisa Longe conducted an engaging session to introduce students to the fundamentals of project management. Anisa covered essential topics such as scheduling, risk management, stakeholder engagement, team member roles, and effective communication. She also provided an overview of various project management methodologies, including Agile, to broaden the students' understanding of managing projects efficiently.
To reinforce these concepts, Anisa designed a hands-on activity that resonated with the students. Using the classic game Jenga as a learning tool, students took on the roles of project managers and collaborated in teams to construct towers. Throughout the exercise, they explored real-world project challenges, discussing quality, assessing risks, and navigating the complexities of decision-making. This interactive and dynamic demonstration vividly illustrated the importance of teamwork, strategy, and adaptability in project management.
The session concluded with the distribution of new laptops to all participants, followed by a dinner at Market Point—a great way to wrap up a productive and insightful session.
