Applications must include the following:

• A three-page narrative that outlines your past accomplishments, as well as current and future research and/or creative plans; and 
• A complete C.V.; and
• Two letters of recommendation from scholars with well-established profiles in your field, external to UC.

Applicants should send the narrative, C.V., and names of the two recommenders to taft@uc.edu, including “Taft Distinguished Professor” in the subject line. Applicants should ask their recommenders to send their letters to taft@uc.edu with the subject line: “Letter of recommendation for [applicant’s name].”

The award provides a title for a five-year period and $5,000 annually in research funds, for a total of $25,000 over the five-year period of the professorship. The annual allocation of funds must be used within each year, except by written approval of the Taft Faculty Chair and Center Director. 

Taft Distinguished Professors are expected to deliver an inaugural lecture/presentation to the UC community, serve on review committees during the five-year professorship, and participate Taft activities, as relevant.
